We need your feedback on our Global Blue New Deal!

Sustainable Ocean Alliance's Youth Policy Advisory Council’s Global Blue New Deal is an inclusive ocean policy agenda crowd-sourced from youth and subject matter experts, and we want YOUR input! 🌎

We're actively seeking opinions and feedback from youth, scientists, policymakers, and other ocean organizations and stakeholders to holistically understand what needs to be included in our vision for a healthy ocean and a just future. We know our community's expertise will be truly valuable to making this a strong and impactful document.

You can find the full document and feedback form here( along with a message from our Youth Policy Advisory Council. Whether you have opinions on specific sections or policy solutions, you can provide your feedback with comments directly here:

World’s Largest Seagrass Project Proves “You Can Actually Restore the Oceans”

I love the opening imagery from this article about seagrass:

"When Karen McGlathery used to swim in the coastal bays off Virginia’s Eastern Shore, the water would quickly turn cloudy and brown as sediment swirled around her. Now, 25 years later, for as far as she can swim the water remains clear. The sediment is anchored in place by lush green seagrass meadows, teeming with fish, scallops and crustaceans. 'It’s like this beautiful underwater prairie,' says McGlathery. 'It’s just gorgeous.'"

Stories like this make me feel hopeful.

So happy to see such a great representation of female climate leaders in this group! It's a pleasure to be here with all of you. A big thank you to the Grounded community for this initiative and for including me here :)

My name is Camila Vega, originally from Bogota Colombia now residing in Santa Cruz, California. I've always been in love and enthralled by nature. Now I'm on a journey to figure out how to use my skills to help preserve and protect our future. As a California resident and global citizen, I feel a deep responsibility to take action and help protect this natural beauty that we are borrowing from our future generations. (Big fan of All We Can Save by Dr. Ayana Elizabeth Johnson :)

Currently, I'm working with the Sustainable Ocean Alliance to help develop young ocean leaders and amplify and grow market-based climate solutions. I know we can make a difference if we work together and I'm always excited to collaborate. Please feel free to connect here or get in touch via email:
